KISSIMMEE — For only the third time in 12 winters, Pasco County’s female weightlifters were represented with a state champion. On a day when Pasco County arrived with 24 entries at the 12th annual FHSAA State Finals at the Kissimmee Civic Center, top-seeded River Ridge senior Kiara Wood garnered gold at 129 pounds. Wood’s personal-best 180-pound bench total complemented her personal-best 180-pound clean-and-jerk total for a career-best 360-pound total, 15 more than runner-up Taylor Turner of Menendez.
