TALLAHASSEE — On a course built for speed under Saturday morning’s brutally cold 40-degree conditions, no Hillsborough County or Pasco County cross country teams returned home with either a first- or second-place trophy from the FHSAA State Finals at Leon County’s Apalachee Regional Park. 4A boys: Sickles, Plant top local finishers Sickles (206 points) and Plant (268) placed sixth and 10th, respectively, while Newsome (313) finished 11th and Wiregrass Ranch (569) placed 23rd in the 24-team field.
